Quality Control/Bench Technician

Our client, located in the Burr Ridge area is a World-Class manufacturer of precision turned products for over 80 years, serving a diverse market base that includes medical, automotive, hydraulics, plasma cutting, HVAC, and power generation. They are seeking a talented and motivated Manufacturing Associate to join their Quality Control team.
In this entry-level position, you will learn to the client’s quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, finished products, and recording the results. Excellent communication and a keen attention to detail is required.
Pay Rate: $22/hr - $24/hr DOE
7:00AM-4:00PM (M-F)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Approve in-process production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the production supervisor
  • Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests and measurements
  • Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work
  • Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs
  • Maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  • Maintain detailed records of QC and bench activities
  • Collaborate with other team members to resolve issues


Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing/machine shop environment
  • Use micrometers and calipers to measure parts
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures
  • Experience with specific types of equipment relevant to the industry
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of relevant safety procedures and regulations
  • Good communication and team collaboration skills
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Previous experience in a quality control or maintenance role
  • Understanding of schematics and technical drawings
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
