Job Title: Human Resource Specialist

Location: Morrisville, North Carolina (Hybrid)

Contract Duration: 6 months

Pay Rate: $ 20 – 22 / hour


Job Summary:

The Onboarding Specialist is responsible for managing the pre-boarding (offer to start date) and onboarding (start through 12 months) processes for new teammates, as well as internal transfers and promotions. This role ensures that all required pre-hire tasks are completed and that new hires are fully prepared for their first day. The Onboarding Specialist maintains engagement with new hires throughout their first 12 months to support their career growth and overall experience with our client. This role involves coordination of pending hires, recruiters, hiring managers, external vendors, and internal partners to provide technical and transactional assistance, along with high-level customer service.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Pre-Employment Requirements: Manage contingent offer requirements for pending hires, including background checks, drug screening, education and employment verification, EHS/OHS clearance, I-9, and licensure/credentials.
  • Incentive Agreements: Prepare and provide incentive agreements to qualified new hires, transfers, and promotions as per offer details.
  • Candidate Communication: Maintain consistent communication with candidates to ensure a positive experience, providing timely updates and responding to inquiries regarding pre-boarding and onboarding processes.
  • Record Maintenance: Ensure complete, accurate, and up-to-date pre-boarding records for each new hire, transfer, and promotion, following legal and organizational standards.
  • First-Year Engagement: Maintain contact with new hires throughout their first year, providing information on annual processes and connecting them with resources, events, and opportunities for career growth.
  • Question Resolution: Address routine and complex inquiries from new hires, HR partners, hiring managers, and internal/external partners, involving senior team members or leadership as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in initiatives to enhance the candidate experience and improve onboarding efficiency.
  • Special Projects: Contribute to special projects or non-routine work as directed by leadership.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Administrative Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service-focused administrative role.
  • Microsoft Office: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Multitasking: Strong ability to coordinate multiple priorities.


Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Human Resources Experience: Previous experience in HR is preferred.
  • Onboarding Experience: Previous experience in onboarding is highly preferred.


Education:

  • Required: High School Diploma
