Contract : W2, 3 months

Location : Santa Clara, CA – 5 days in office

Pay Range : $90-96/Hour DOE

Brief Summary :

Help make our client the premier destination for health services by driving usability research and creating a seamless user experience. This role is part of a small, multidisciplinary team tasked with building user-friendly interfaces and environments for health customers and members.

Responsibilities

• Develop best practices for conducting user research and create a usability toolkit for both digital and environmental studies.
• Conduct user experience studies, including focus groups, usability tests, surveys, contextual inquiry, task analysis, and more.
• Promote usability best practices within the organization beyond the design team.
• Develop testing materials, create tasks, and define success criteria for usability studies.
• Present usability study results with actionable, research-based recommendations to product teams.
• Collaborate with designers to refine wireframes and mockups, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Document usability findings and ensure they are correctly implemented by the design team.
• Establish programmatic research methodologies for consistent insights into environmental and UI design.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Cognitive or Social Psychology, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience conducting user research and formal usability studies.
• Proven experience in usability methods such as contextual inquiry, cognitive walkthroughs, heuristic review, and remote testing.
• Strong interest in understanding user workflows and advocating for customer-centered design.
• Team-oriented and collaborative approach in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to self-direct, manage projects, and maintain attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex findings clearly.
• Familiarity with tools like Figma or Quip is a plus.
