An AmLaw 100 firm is seeking a junior to mid-level Labor and Employment Associate with 2-5 years of experience to join its employment practice group in New York. This role offers a mix of employment litigation and transactional employment work.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle employment litigation, including discrimination cases, wage and hour class actions, and contract disputes in federal and state courts or before administrative agencies.
- Conduct transactional work, including:
- Providing advice and counseling on employment matters
- Wage and hour audits
- Drafting employment-related documents (e.g., agreements, handbooks, policies)
- Researching and analyzing complex employment law issues
- Experience with traditional labor law and conducting employment training is preferred.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2-5 years in employment litigation and transactional work.
- Skills: Strategic, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple assignments with a high sense of urgency.
- Education: Strong academic and writing credentials.
- Bar Admission: Active state bar membership (New York preferred; NJ, PA, or CT Bar admissions are a plus).
Compensation
The target annual pay range for this role is $225,000-$295,000, with total compensation potentially including bonuses, incentives, and firm-sponsored benefits. Hybrid work schedule available.
