Come join us and help shape the future!nnWSP is seeking a highly motivated Early Career Water Resources Engineer to join our team in our Baltimore City, MD office. You will be engaged with multiple projects locally and nationally in providing stormwater management solutions. Tasks may include hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling, drainage/civil design, fieldwork, project planning, facilitating communication, data analysis, Computer Aided Design Drafting (CADD), report writing, plan preparation, permitting support, and construction observation. Candidates should be comfortable generating accurate and concise reporting and documentation to support engineering observations, calculations, methods, conclusions and recommendations for engineering and design projects. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.nnDuties and Responsibilities:nnPerforms specific portions of broader projects under the supervision of an experienced engineernnCollaborate with cross-functional teams to provide long-term stormwater management solutions for existing and new clientsnnConduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and drainage/civil designnnPrepare detailed calculation packages including proper documentation and referencesnnAssist with the development of civil reports, drawings and specificationsnnPrepare reservoir and pond designs including geosynthetic lining, leak detection/collection systems, breach analysis, outlet works, and spillwaysnnDesign channels and energy dissipation structures that include concrete, riprap, articulated concrete block, fabric-formed concrete, and baffle blocks for erosion controlnnWork with CAD technicians to produce construction-level drawings including grading, drainage , stormwater, and sediment control plans, profiles, details, and sectionsnnPerform work in accordance with an agreed upon scope, budget, and schedulennInteract with clients, subcontractors, and other business partners in a confident and professionalnnExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.nnPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.nnTalent is the essence of meeting our client’s objectives, goals and challenges. If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to have that first discussion of you joining our team.nnMinimum Qualifications:nnBachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineeringnn0 to 1 years of relevant work experience in water resources engineering.nnProficient knowledge of stormwater evaluation and design engineering principles, practices, process (e.g., hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis, stormwater management design principles)nnWell-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles.nnHighly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.nnAbility to work independently and in a team environmentnnProficient with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.nnAbility to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.nnOccasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.nnProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.nnPreferred Qualifications:nnMaster’s Degree in Engineering with a focus on Hydrology/HydraulicsnnEngineer in Training CertificationnnBasic knowledge of industry software programs (e.g., HEC-RAS, HY-8, PCSWMM, GIS ArcPro, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Bentley Microstation)nnExperience with frequency storm and probable maximum precipitation hydrologic analysesnnExperience with hydraulic analyses and design of channels, culverts, bridges, flow measurement, and flood mappingnnField/Construction experiencennAffiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement are highly desirablennCompensation:nnExpected Salary: $65,000- $85,000nnWSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
