POSITION SUMMARYnnRegistered Nurses provide direct care to patients and are a part of all care given by other departments. Registered Nurses must continually strive to provide the highest quality care possible for the patients. They must also lead the nursing team toward the achievement of the goals of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. High quality care and overall efficiency are essential components to this success.nnPOSITION QUALIFICATIONSnnEducation and Experience:nnBachelors degree in nursing required; masters degree preferred. Effective 1/13/22, must complete (and maintain) the Clinical Recognition Program (CRP) within 2 years of becoming an RN Coordinator.nnLicense/Certificates:nnCurrent Minnesota RN license. American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire. American Heart Association ACLS and NRP provider or instructor level required within 4 months or hire. S.T.A.B.L.E certification within one (1) year. 5 years of experience required in obstetrics. Program management and development experience preferred.nnSpecial Skills and Aptitudes:nnExperience with public speaking.nnKnowledge and skills to implement nursing theory.nnDemonstrates mature judgment, initiative and proficiency in nursing skills.nnEffective teaching ability and bility to assess and set learning objectives for orientees and current employees.nnEffective communication and professional and positive interpersonal skills.nnLeadership qualities and organizational abilities.nnESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESnnRN:nnExercises concern for the patient's welfare, maintains knowledge of the patient's condition, administers medication and performs treatment while practicing and maintaining high ethical standards.nnResponsible for the direct and indirect care of residents/patients assigned to her/him under the guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer or Nurse Manager, maintains accurate and complete records of nursing assessments and care, and counsels of the client and family in meeting nursing related needs.nnProvide appropriate care for patients who are undergoing or are recovering from orthopedic surgery.nnRemain up to date on new nursing skills and technology, utilizing the nursing process (observation, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the delivery of care.nnPerform duties in accordance with physician's orders, the Medical Center's policies, methods, and techniques, and in coordinating with other departments and Medical Center personnel.nnProvide leadership and promotes teamwork.nnWhen requested, participate in in-service programs, education programs, and orientation of new personnel.nnDemonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.nnObstetrical RN Coordinator:nnAccreditation coordination and oversight.nnCoordinate Quality trending and reporting for area.nnAssure evidence-based practice and recommendations for improvement.nnPolicy and procedure development and auditing for compliance.nnDay to Day mentoring and direction to staff.nnProgram management.nnCoordination and oversight of workflow to assure exceptional service, communication, efficiency and safety.nnAssures a positive work environment and positive team communication and interactions.nnBack up to the clinical navigators and charge nurse as needed.
