LHH is working with the Nashville, Tennessee office of a national title insurance company to recruit an experienced Underwriting Counsel (Attorney). The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in real estate law, specifically related to title and underwriting.
Job responsibilities include:
- Assisting agents and the direct operation by responding to inquiries and by giving advice and direction on general underwriting matters.
- Preparing contracts, agreements, indemnities and other instruments in connection with specific transactions for agency and direct operations.
- Reviewing documents and instruments for legal sufficiency, such as lien waivers, surveys, plats, deeds, deeds of trust, etc.
- Coordinating and assist in closing large commercial or complex transactions.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory activity and judicial decisions and advises agents and direct operations of legislation, regulations, or litigation which will affect their operation.
Qualifications sought:
- JD from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Tennessee
- 5+ years of legal experience in real estate, title, and underwriting
