Seeking a Inventory Planner for a large clothing company in San Francisco, CA
W2 contingent assignment for 1 year.
Category Inventory Planners are responsible for understanding the timing of product need and aligning the supply capabilities at the PC9/size level. When there is a misalignment, the planner must communicate risk, review expedite options and track inbounds to ensure proper prioritization. They are responsible for finding the balance between acceptable order fill rates (account facing) and turn (the two primary guard-rails)

- Fill Rates above 92%
- Turn in line with AFP
- Maintain buys commitments to the Open-to-Buy financials
- Additional Information and Key Metrics:
- Each position cover about 800-1,000 active product codes for the US market across the 4 primary channels (Main-line, Ecom, Outlet, Wholesale). The annual buy per planner is approximately 15M units or $175M. Each has approximately 20 business partners that they interact with.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan inbound supply to match demand signal
- Ensure fill rates above 92%
- Drive Turn and Inventory units and $ to be in line with financial commitments
- Communicate Ship Risk to cross-functional partners
- Issue purchase orders to the PC13/ delivery date level
- Convert demand into pre-packs and case packs where applicable
- Manage inventory transitions by offering units to alternate account/ Asset Recovery at end of season
- Review requests for additional goods to provide reservations to the requesting account or dates when the product is available
Minimum Education Required: 4-year degree
Years and Type of Experience Required: 1-2 years of experience in Supply Chain working with vendors in the apparel industry
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Analytical skills required with a strong Excel background.
- Good written communication with the ability to summarize (story-telling).
- Curiosity and willingness to explore the details.
