UX Copywriter
Industry: Fortune 500 Finance Company
Location: REMOTE (EST hours)
Duration: 6-month contract w/ possible extension
Pay rate: $60-$65/hr
Job Profile Summary
As a member of the Human Centered Design Team, this individual is responsible for the conceptual development and drafting of marketing and instructional copy for the digital experience of an exciting new direct to consumer suite of products. Ensures that copy is consistent with overall strategic goals of the organization and the appropriate business unit. Will be embedded day to day alongside visual designers in our agile development teams, working quickly within Figma and across multiple teams for review and coordination.
The best candidate will have the ability and desire to take complicated financial services content and translate it into simple, concise, compelling copy that inspires consumer audiences to take action. This position will be part of the Human Centered Design Team with a specific focus on our Individual Life Insurance business, supporting their go-to-market efforts for a new direct-to-consumer line of products.
The UX Web Writer will be part of a dedicated Agile pod, solely focused on a singular suite of products. As such, this UX Web Writer must possess the ability to work independently, collaborate with creative and business partners to concept and execute, yet understand how to take creative direction with humility.
Mandatories
- Writing Microcopy. Craft clear and concise text for interface elements to guide users effectively.
- Demonstrated experience writing in multiple tones
- A portfolio with demonstrated expertise writing D2C sales copy
- Experience with Life Insurance, specifically individual term life insurance, OR experience distilling complex information into easily digestible copy
- An understanding of mobile UX copy. This role with collaborate heavily with the UX writing team and the ideal candidate will need to make recommendations to help marketing and UX messaging sync for maximum impact
Responsibilities
- Brainstorm, strategize, and create content that promotes products and services
- Consult with cross-functional team members and creative leaders to create great copy
- Enforce our brand, messaging, and voice
- Ensure creative material is well-researched, effective and consistent with goals and brand standards
- Present themes and concepts to key stakeholders and business partners, champion that work through to completion, and incorporate learnings for continued improvement
- Interview business partners, senior executives, subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather the information needed to create effective business messaging
- Stay current on marketing communications trends in and out of the industry
- Understand our institutional audiences and how to best communicate with them
- Recognize the nuances of communicating through all media formats and converting messaging to be applicable across all media
- Meet or exceed all deadlines and deliverables
- Develop and maintain content guidelines and style guides for the experience in alignment with overall brand/tone guidelines to ensure consistency across platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school
- 7+ years UX writing and copywriting experience.
