NAMAK DC – GENERAL MANAGER OPENING
Featured on the Washingtonian, Eater DC, and other publications, Namak is looking for a General Manager, who embodies the passion & work ethos that is integral to the day-to-day operations of Namak, to lead the restaurant to new heights.
Namak, founded by longtime friends and established restaurateurs John Cidre and Saied Azali, is an Eastern Mediterranean and Levantine restaurant nestled in bustling Adams Morgan neighborhood. The name “Namak” derives from the Persian word for salt, symbolizing the significance of simple and seasonal ingredients that form the backbone of the Levantine, Greek, North African, and Persian dishes that are served at Namak. Emphasizing the value of freshness, our menu boasts a delightful array of bread, kebabs, mezes, and specialty drinks – each crafted daily in-house, ensuring an authentic experience for our patrons.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of management experience in a fine dining restaurant; experience in a Michelin-rated/James Beard-awarded establishment is highly desirable.
- A passion for hospitality with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- A positive demeanor and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
- Highly organized, efficient, creative, and able to work with precision.
- A genuine love for food, with a desire to continuously expand knowledge in this area. Passion for Eastern Mediterranean and Levantine cuisine is a plus!
- Must possess working knowledge on wine, cocktails, and other beverages.
- Must be available for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Familiarity and proficiency with Toast POS and Microsoft Office Suite required. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign is a plus!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the front of house team, addressing all staffing needs.
- Actively collaborate with the Executive Chef in different facets of day-to-day operations to establish healthy work dynamics between the front and back of the house.
- Ensure consistent pacing, standards, and quality of service each night.
- Foster a stimulating learning environment and support professional growth among staff.
- Collaborate with ownership and department heads to achieve financial objectives, such as lowering operational costs.
- Show accountability and maintain the restaurant's appearance and overall condition.
- Oversee all front of house personnel, including managing labor costs.
- Handle the procurement & ordering of all liquor, wine, and other beverage requirements.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by ownership.

Compensation range is $90,000-125,000 and will be based on your experience level plus bonuses contingent on restaurant’s performance.
