The strategic partnerships team oversees youth sports organization relationships across North America. This includes market and competitive analysis, building new partner relationships, contract negotiation, and partnership management and activation. This team executes partnerships across a range of business models and structures. The core mandate of the team is to build a portfolio of partnerships that accelerate growth across all programs in priority markets.
We're looking for an entrepreneurial partnership manager to join our team. This person will manage a portfolio of existing partnerships and the prospecting and signing of new partnerships. This role requires a self-starter with great relationship management skills who can drive program growth through the development and execution of partner programs.
What you'll do:- Manage an assigned portfolio of partners through the partnership life cycle: opportunity identification, contract negotiations, partner management, budget management, partner performance evaluation and renewal recommendations.
- Lead strategic and regular partner meetings with executive teams outside of the organization.
- Build a partner roadmap that delivers program growth and industry innovation.
- Partner with Vice President of League Growth and leadership team on strategies to optimize, restructure, expand or sunset assigned partner agreements.
- Partner with Vice President of League Growth and leadership team on creation, evaluation and renewal of channel partner program.
- Lead development of the content calendar with the product marketing team
- Work with Vice President of League Growth and leadership team on evaluation and renewal of 3rd party integration partners
- Collaborate with Growth, Marketing, Product and League Success to understand key insights, wins and opportunities to unlock new value through partnerships and events.
- Be responsible for making data-driven recommendations to develop new partner programs, improve existing partnerships through tracking and reporting on results.
- Work with leadership to develop partner tracking and reporting systems to ensure success of partner programs and campaigns.
- Create a positive group culture and processes to foster high performance, efficient processes and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- At least 7 years of experience in partnership sales, business development, partnership marketing, relationship management.
- Passion and a proven track record of partnership management.
- Deep knowledge of contract development and negotiation, go-to-market strategies, and understanding of business drivers.
- Capable and persuasive communicator/negotiator who can make arguments clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to build and foster a broad network of relationships
- Must be comfortable in high growth, fast moving work environment
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in partnership sales, partnership management, business development or comparable roles.
- Strong influencing, communication and relationship building skills and a sense of urgency
- Excellent presentation skills - Storytelling-setting frame of reference and clearly communicating point of difference and value proposition.
- Prior work experience in youth sports with a strong understanding of youth sports landscape
- A team player who can interact cross-functionally at all levels of the organization.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft excel/Google sheets/PowerPoint and experience in decision making with large data sets and quantitative analysis.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platform
- Strong analytical problem-solving, negotiation and cross-functional management skills with a clear focus under pressure.
More about the role: - Travel: Up to 25% of the time
- Work Schedule: Full-Time 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday) with occasional nights and weekends
- Compensation Structure: Salaried, FLSA Exempt (OT-ineligible), paid semi-monthly. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on employee and company performance.
