POSITION SUMMARY The Vice President of Content & Distribution is a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing and integrating all aspects of content creation and production for Seattle Sounders FC and Seattle Reign FC. This role is instrumental in developing a world-class content ecosystem that drives fan engagement, enhances the game-day experience, strengthens brand loyalty, and contributes to business growth. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the VP of Content & Distribution will lead cross-functional teams across video, digital platforms, game presentation, and broadcast production. This individual will champion creativity, innovation, and collaboration while ensuring all content initiatives are deeply rooted in data-driven strategies and aligned with organizational objectives. In this role, you will shape the future of how fans experience our brand-both locally and globally-while managing a high-performing team and collaborating across departments to deliver exceptional results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Content Strategy & Innovation: - Define and execute a comprehensive, forward-looking content strategy that aligns with organizational goals, emphasizing storytelling, innovation, and audience growth and engagement across all platforms.
- Identify and implement emerging technologies, trends, and platforms (e.g., AI, AR/VR, fan-generated content) to elevate content innovation and drive fan growth.
- Develop and oversee localized content strategies tailored to each social and digital vertical, and global market, ensuring cultural relevance while maintaining consistent brand messaging and values across all audiences.
- Ensure content resonates across all distribution channels-digital, social, broadcast, and live events-while adapting messaging for global audiences.
Data-Driven Decision Making: - Leverage advanced analytics, fan insights, and predictive modeling to guide content creation and ensure measurable outcomes in fan engagement, revenue, and brand reach.
- Establish and track KPIs to evaluate content performance, providing regular reports and actionable insights to stakeholders.
Leadership & Talent Development: - Build and lead a high-performing, collaborative team responsible for video production, game-day content, broadcast production, and digital media strategies.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and creative risk-taking, ensuring the team remains innovative, adaptable, and aligned with organizational values.
- Design structured development plans for staff growth, creating clear pathways for leadership and skill-building opportunities within the department.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Work cross-departmentally to ensure content is fully integrated with broader business objectives and enhances partner/sponsor value.
- Develop scalable workflows and production frameworks to maximize team efficiency while maintaining creative excellence.
Game Presentation Excellence - Oversee game-day and live-event content production to ensure a seamless and elevated fan experience, both in-stadium and digitally.
- Partner with Fan Engagement, Partnership Marketing and Operations teams to deliver immersive, innovative, and brand-enhancing presentations that capture the passion and energy of the game.
Emerging Technologies - Evaluate, implement, and manage AI-driven tools to optimize workflows, automate content personalization, and enhance audience engagement.
- Stay at the forefront of industry advancements, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and interactive fan experiences into content strategies.
Budget & Resource Management - Oversee the department's budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to deliver high-impact, cost-efficient content initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships and external production partners to maintain high standards and meet deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS - Professional Experience and Leadership: 10+ years of leadership experience in content production and strategy, with a proven track record of cultivating talent, fostering teamwork, and creating a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Industry Alignment: Expertise in digital platforms, live event production, television and film development and programming, video production, and broadcast operations, with a focus on fan engagement and revenue generation.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT - This role requires regular on-site presence at our Headquarters & Training Facility in Renton, WA, as part of a hybrid work arrangement. Frequent attendance at Sounders FC and Reign FC matches is also expected.
- Employee must reside within Washington state upon date of hire.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to facilitate own local travel.
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Responsibilities include regular work outdoors and may require standing on feet for long periods of time, as well as some lifting of up to 20 pounds.

The annual salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 and eligible for bonus opportunity. Base pay at time of offer will take into account job-related knowledge, skills and experience required for the role, internal equity and market.
