THE ROLE: Project Engineer
LOCATION: Waukesha, WI
REPORTS TO: Director, Mezzanine Engineering
POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Exempt
OUR OPPORTUNITY:
The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating engineering projects for structural steel work platforms/structures. Provides technical support to the sales department, manufacturing and customers.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and check work platforms/structures for proper design and code (building) compliance to ensure a safe structure. Modify or create AutoCAD drawings as necessary to design process.
- Check AutoCAD approval drawings for proper design of work platforms/structures and conformance to customers’ requests.
- Review returned approval drawings from customer for any requested changes that affect design, structural integrity and cost.
- Discuss and coordinate projects with sales, other departments and customers. Provide detailed project information to project files.
- Travel to job sites to verify existing site dimensions to ensure that work platforms/structures will fit into building properly.
- Coordinate shipping and installation of work platforms/structures with appropriate departments.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Minimum five years prior engineering experience in design, estimating and/or project engineering with at least two years as a project engineer.
- Proficiency in using 3D modeling software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- E. Certification is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 5-10% of the time.
