Job Description - Review and update daily downtime reports: Review the reliability schedule on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to ensure the proactive maintenance of production equipment to fulfill our customer requirements. Organize, staff, direct, and control reliability functions to ensure that plant objectives are achieved in an effective and efficient manner.
- Perform and complete Root Cause Analysis on equipment as deemed necessary by the Senior Management Staff at Cavendish Farms site.
- Accurately and efficiently perform, document and communicate Maintenance assessments on a continuous basis by ensuring all vibration routes are completed and necessary work orders are in place to repair or maintain the assets of the company.
- Development of a subordinate staff. Meeting current and future performance standards by selecting and developing key subordinates. Includes overseeing the continuing training of existing and any new employees to the Department.
- Engineer solutions to extend equipment life and reduce downtime: Work with the maintenance team leaders to improve and understand daily issues relating to the maintenance department. Must work with each department prior to making decisions that will affect all areas in the plant. Monitor and identify problem areas in the facility prior to a breakdown. Research and guide the implementation of new equipment to improve efficiencies.
- Work closely with the Engineering & Maintenance Manager on the annual budget for Training, New Equipment installs, upgrades to existing equipment and update Maintenance KPIs.
- Ensure relevant Preventive Maintenance work orders are in place, and spare parts inventory is adequately maintained to satisfy production requirements.
- Direct supervision and leadership of the Electrical Maintenance Technician team.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for major maintenance programs and project management, through execution. You will develop and manage process and equipment reliability programs including:
- Root cause failure analysis.
- Managing the results of condition monitoring functions.
- Life cycle asset management of process equipment.
- Providing technical support to area operations and maintenance.
- Work with area operations and maintenance to troubleshoot process and equipment issues to increase reliability
Qualifications - Education Required: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or 2-year post- secondary education in mechanical discipline would be considered depending on experience.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial experience (process/manufacturing industry preferred).
- Experience in a reliability or plant maintenance area would be considered an asset.
- Maintenance Management Professional, Reliability Certification, or work towards such a designation would be considered an asset.
- A strong sense of urgency and curiosity.
- Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Good ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills are a must.
- Desire to grow and develop your leadership and technical skills.
