The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the plant, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership and a results-oriented mindset to drive operational efficiency, develop staff, and support long-term plant goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Oversee production schedules, staffing, and workflows to ensure targets for safety, quality, and output are met.
- Directs employees with respect to production volume, cost, quality, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
- Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of production workers.
- Prioritizes and enforces safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with maintenance to ensure reliable equipment performance and preventive maintenance scheduling. Ensure production team is fulfilling daily maintenance responsibilities.
- Conduct regular safety audits, identify risks, and lead initiatives to improve workplace safety culture.
- Train staff on safety best practices and maintain documentation for compliance purposes.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize processes and enhance overall efficiency.
- Partner with quality control teams to maintain high standards and reduce defect rates.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives, monitor KPIs, and address any deviations proactively
- Recommends the hiring and releasing of production personnel as required to maintain production schedule.
- Develop and manage production budgets, and ensure resources are used efficiently; including management of Overtime.
- Arranges to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained.
- Maintains good employee relations and adherence to Company policies, takes proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required.
- Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
- Work closely with the Plant Manager to align production goals with plant objectives and company strategy.

- Performs other duties as required or directed by supervisor.
Required Education and Experience:- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Five to eight years of directly related experience, with at least two years' experience as a supervisor.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in an office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses tools and other such equipment during the course of the job duties. Provided Personal Protective Equipment, as well as steel-toed boots or shoes, must be worn at all times.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; and stoop
- Regular, predictable attendance is required
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
