EHS Director will be responsible for energizing multiple teams without direct authority by creating a behavioral based safety environment and ensuring our facilities become LEED certified. Maintaining all Health, Safety and Environmental plant and regulatory requirements and ensuring we are compliant with Federal, Provincial, and local health and safety regulations. A successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a sense of urgency and a critical eye for safety. Willing and able to travel connecting, standardizing, and transforming our 9 facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develops and sustains systems for the Safety of Team Members operating within all locations in the US and Mexico.
- Leads the research and development of new and emerging safety systems and reliability technologies.
- Leads and shares Best Practices from all locations so all plants improve together measured by Total Incident Rate (TIR).
- Verify the compliance of all federal, state, and local Plant OSHA compliance regulations and worker's compensation working through local Plant EHS managers.
- Develops and coordinates training for general safety, accident investigation, emergency response, environmental regulations, and reporting.
- Conduct and maintain minimum safe distance calculations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Potential Ergonomics Issues List (PEIL), and Physical Demand Assessments.
- Conduct and maintain annual Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO) reviews for all equipment.
- Responsible for applying corrective and preventative action when discrepancies are detected.
- Conducts 8-D root cause analysis related to safety and environmental incidents.
- Responsible for all Environmental regulatory audits, inspections, and reporting. Storm Water Operator required.
- To include SPCC, PIPP, SWPPP contingency plans
- Maintain ISO 14001:2015 Certification.
- Facilitate property insurance visits and apply appropriate countermeasures for recommendations.
REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health management, or a related field.
- 10+ years' experience as a EHS Leader in a manufacturing environment who has demonstrated exceptional results across multiple locations.
- Travel up to 50% to our 9 facilities.
- Compliance reporting experience - state, EPA, etc.
- COSM certification
