Job Summary The Application Support & Development Manager is responsible for managing the software development team and supporting the daily functions of the organization. A critical function of this position is to be the liaison between the software development team and other business departments to ensure communication is provided and work is prioritized based on business/company needs. This position requires skills sets to provide guidance and training to other staff, quality assurance over projects and tasks assigned to the IT team, and general project ownership and management for business-critical systems in the Coast environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Understand and demonstrate the principles of the Company's Mission, Vision and Values.
- Provide training on Coast production systems, including Artiva workflow, data structure, file transfer and other day to day processes that are required to support operation's needs.
- Lead quality assurance in processes or changes being developed as part of changing business or client needs.
- Primary duties include systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine, software or system functional specifications.
- Provide input on project decisions as it relates to timelines, capability, resource cost, current project, priority, and other relevant issues working with team to make sure timeline is accurate and deadlines are met.
- Stay up to date on current technologies and share with management and team any information that may assist in processes or procedures.
- Respond to escalated requests from Software Development staff members by conducting research and providing guidance and training on how to resolve project tasks and tickets. Analyze existing workflows to identify areas of opportunity and recommend and implement solutions.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Partner with business units to create, modify and maintain workflows and other processes that enhance the Company's business practices.
- Import and export data through the collection system and other applications, performing data cleansing as required.
- Develop user and functional requirements as necessary for software, data storage and retention, or workflow and business process changes.
- Keep both the business area and IT staff informed of productivity objectives, goals, and concerns.
- Manage service desk queues by responding to and updating tickets.
- Handle business systems problems, determine level of urgency, work with team and communicate timely with the business area regarding issues/status/resolution.
- Attend and/or lead daily stand-up meetings, code review meetings, kick-off meetings, project meetings, and other necessary meetings.
- Conduct/assist in performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback regarding performance and productivity.
- Manage vendor relationships ensuring data is produced and delivered on a timely basis.
- Partner with vendors and clients to manage the delivery and usage of supported products.
- Create, manage and maintain standards for processes and procedures that include process flow maps, production management, vendor management and reporting.
- Create and maintain documentation of all processes and procedures according to company polices procedures and standards.
- Support client implementation projects and work with customers on major change efforts within their environments.
- Achieve operational objectives by providing information and recommendations to strategic plans; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Comply with policies and procedures as required.
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesEducation- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
ExperienceAbility to manage and run project independently using standard project management practices. Minimum of two years of experience managing project timelines, coordinating across departments, and communicating with departments involved. Minimum of two years managerial experience preferred.Language/Communication/InterpersonalAbility to read, write and speak fluent English. Ability to establish effective professional relationships with all internal and external business partners. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.AnalyticalStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify improvement opportunities, evaluate options and develop solutions. Ability to resolve complex problems in the absence of technical guidelines or precedents where generally applied principles are inadequate or unavailable.TechnicalSignificant experience working with Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word and Access. Crystal Report knowledge, desired but not required. Experience in Artiva; Foundations, System Administration, Data Structures, Scripts and file processing. Great knowledge of systems (e.g. various programming languages, databases, system and network architectures, design patterns, etc.) and quality assurance methodologies preferred. FACS, and Collection Operations knowledge preferred. LeadershipAbility to effectively lead and coach teams to achievement of goals, objectives, and adherence to group and corporate values. Leads large-scale projects over extended periods. Ability to adjust quickly to changing business needs.
