The Director of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of business objectives among the company's Human Resources Team to enhance employee engagement and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations. This position involves overseeing all aspects of human resources management, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits administration, regulatory compliance, and companies' safety program. Preferred bread or food experience.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Employee Safety and Wellness:
Leads the strategy and development of a strong program to ensure a safe working environment for all associates, with the goal of no long-term accidents. Implement wellness programs to promote employee health and well-being.
Strategic HR Planning:
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the manufacturing business objectives.
Collaborate with senior leadership to understand organizational needs and develop long-term workforce plans.
Talent Acquisition:
Lead the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring the timely and effective hiring of skilled and qualified personnel.
Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements, conduct interviews, and make hiring decisions.
Employee Relations:
Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances.
Implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance morale and productivity.
Performance Management:
Oversee the performance appraisal process, guiding managers on goal setting and performance evaluations.
Develop and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
Training and Development:
Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
Facilitate ongoing learning opportunities to enhance employees' skills and capabilities.
Compensation and Benefits:
Manage the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations.
Legal Compliance:
Stay informed about changes in labor laws and regulations affecting the manufacturing industry.
Ensure company policies and practices comply with local, state, and federal laws.
Diversity and Inclusion:
Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organization.
Implement strategies to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
HR Metrics and Reporting:
Establish and monitor key HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs.
Generate regular reports for senior management on HR-related activities and initiatives.
Work on initiatives that support organizational growth, development, and change management.
Collaborate with leadership to identify and address organizational development needs.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (master's degree preferred) but not required.
Extensive experience in human resources management, with a focus on manufacturing or industrial settings.
In-depth knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful HR strategies.
Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is a plus but not required.
