Duties for the HR director will include supervising HR personnel, dealing with employee grievances and disputes, supporting employee development, enhancing job satisfaction, designing onboarding procedures, implementing HR strategies that support business objectives, forecasting staffing needs, mitigating risk, structuring benefit packages, maintaining employee records, managing budgets, designing accountability mechanisms, and overseeing overall employment needs. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a high work ethic, excellent communication skills, knowledge of labor regulations and HR practices, strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The exceptional HR director should improve HR processes, implement strategies that support business growth, improve morale and employee retention, enhance safety and wellness, strengthen relations between staff and employers, manage job satisfaction, attract the best recruits, and promote the organization's values.
Primary Job Responsibilities: - Develop and implement human resources policies and support strategic objectives
- Oversee recruitment efforts to ensure that the organization is effectively and efficiently sourcing and selecting the right candidates
- Design and implement a competitive compensation system and benefit package to attract and retain staff.
- Review compensation, benefits market data and monitor pay practices
- Proactively address issues, manage benefit broker resources and benefits enrollment processes
- Manage leave administration and the payroll function
- Lead the effective and efficient administration of the performance management process, making sure that the organization's managers are equipped to engage in constructive and ongoing feedback and coaching, collaborate effectively when co-managing staff, and encourage staff to actively participate in identifying and addressing performance gaps
- Establish compliance with laws and regulations
- Manage staff wellness and performance reviews
- Motivate and support current staff
- Maintaining staff records and handle payroll and employee benefits
- Identify staffing needs and creating job descriptions
- Design and direct training programs
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or the equivalent years of experience in Human Resources or related field
- A minimum 7 years of HR generalist experience partnering directly with senior leadership to develop, align and implement HR and organizational development strategies.
- Experience supervising and developing staff and implementing strategies and systems for talent management, compensation and benefits, and HR technology.
- Strong business acumen and leadership abilities
- Working knowledge of employment laws and other compliance issues
- Ability to listen and probe to understand underlying needs and/or root cause of an issue.
- Ability to provide thoughtful, progressive, and strategic guidance.
- Expertise in analysis, critical decision making, project management, and process improvement.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills, including proficiency in developing and delivering presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems.
- Ability to identify, influence, and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve desired organizational outcomes.
- Outstanding judgement, sensitivity, and high discretion
- Experience working in EMS preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ADP and HR system applications
- HRCI and/or SHRM Certification is a plus.
Salary Range: 160K - 205K/ Year
