Job Description

Sales & Distribution Regional Vice-President

Our client, a manufacturer of home improvement products is currently searching for a Sales & Distribution Regional Vice-President for their Western Region. The position can be based in Winnipeg, Calgary or Saskatoon.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales target. Create and implement sales strategies that drive sales growth beyond targets.
  • Partner directly with and conduct normal business development activity with customers as appropriate for relationship enhancement, connectivity to market, escalated issues.
  • Access, understand, and leverage data efficiently and take appropriate action to react to sales indicators and revise action/activity as appropriate.
  • Understand and follow without exception, all laws, regulations, and internal policies related to Managerial responsibilities.
  • Understand and support all company procedures established for branch operational procedures.
  • Access and understand data and KPI’s to maintain performance standards or meet objectives, and to pursue efficiency and cost improvement opportunities.
  • Accurately complete and closely monitor and manage accurate time & attendance records and associated labour costs.
  • Analyze data and other market and industry intelligence to determine appropriate reaction within established authority on levers including staffing levels, discretionary spending including responsible T&E expenses, inventory levels etc.
  • Analyze data, establish business case and present proposals for ideas or plans beyond authority to Sr. VP. Related to overall business strategy, product requests, branch locations, and other tools required to support business.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in management role preferably in distribution and or sales setting
  • Building products experience an asset – technical background
  • Financial acumen with working knowledge of P&L’s
  • Post-secondary education – preferably business or management related
  • Computer proficiency – Microsoft office, excel, AS 400, Powerpoint
  • Strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills required for internal and external contacts. i.e. professionalism, tact, courtesy, coaching/training
