Job Summary: As a Sous Chef at Bardea Restaurant Group, you will play a pivotal role in our kitchen operations and support the Executive Chef in managing daily culinary activities. You will assist in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety while supervising kitchen staff and contributing to menu development. Your leadership and culinary expertise will ensure that our restaurant continues to exceed guest expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef in menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and recipe development to create innovative, seasonally inspired dishes.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service during all shifts.
- Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen team members, fostering a positive work environment focused on teamwork and professional growth.
- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented according to Bardea's high standards, maintaining consistency and attention to detail.
- Monitor food quality and presentation standards, conducting regular tastings to ensure exceptional output.
- Oversee all kitchen food safety and sanitation practices, ensuring compliance with health department regulations.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and tracking supplies to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing waste.
- Manage kitchen schedules, ensuring appropriate staff coverage during peak times and effective communication between shifts.
- Act as a leader in the kitchen during service, responding to any issues that arise quickly and efficiently, and maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.
- Participate in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to all safety and hygiene protocols.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent training, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, including experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and menu development.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse kitchen team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
