Our Client is seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Benefits Compliance Specialist to join a leading insurance and benefits organization in New York City. This is a high-impact position that will allow you to interface directly with senior leadership in the company while also receiving direct mentorship from the Head of the team. Role Overview: This Benefits Compliance Specialist manages compliance for the group's health and disability businesses, coordinates pension appeals, organizes committee meetings, and serves as the HIPAA Contact Person.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee compliance for health and disability businesses.
- Coordinate pension appeals and draft related documents.
- Organize quarterly Benefit Plans Committee meetings.
- Serve as the HIPAA Contact Person and support HIPAA policy implementation.
- Promote compliance across business lines.
- Contribute to strategic planning and act as a change agent.
Qualifications:
- Experience in health and disability plan compliance, benefits appeals, and health privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).
- JD Preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and prioritize multiple demands.
- BA/BS preferred, with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Preferred certifications in benefits administration, compliance, privacy, or data security.
