This role will be responsible for ensuring the facility complies with all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations. This dynamic HSE Manager will partner with all areas of our organization to develop effective and progressive safety solutions to drive a culture of safety excellence and performance improvement, with sustainable change. 


Essential Job Requirements:


·       Serves as the champion of safe behaviors, safe manufacturing processes and safety process improvements, working directly with the management team to drive hazard awareness and injury prevention. Drive transformation and foster innovation.

·       Reviews, implements, and provides overall guidance for implementation of company-wide safety programs such as behavior-based safety programs, non-routine task evaluations, risk assessments, new ISO safety and environmental standards, and general corporate safety policies and programs.

·       Provides proactive insight and guidance when reviewing engineering controls/design changes to minimize safety and occupational hazards. (e.g., machine guarding, ergonomics, traffic, fire/explosion, noise, upset conditions)

·       Conduct post-accident investigations to determine the root cause and develop effective and timely action plans.

·       Leads, mentors, empowers, and guides a local team of health safety personnel to develop standard safe work instructions, conduct follow up work related to safety incidents, near misses, and safety improvement suggestions from employees, developing out of the box solutions for more complex safety challenges when needed.

·       Complete inspection, monitoring, measurement, analytical testing, and recordkeeping requirements for environmental permits including air, storm water, process wastewater, and hazardous waste.

·       Lead team to prepare and ensure timely submission of environmental reports to government agencies

·       Ensures that all regulatory and internal environmental reporting and documentation requirements are satisfied while maintaining responsibility for the analysis and investigation of all environmental incidents.

·       Provides technical expertise and leadership for environmental issues surrounding the York Campus.

·       Gives timely response to internal and external customers. Clearly communicates with team members through face-to-face meetings, phone, email, and other written correspondence.

·       Lead team to be prepared to interact with HSE regulatory authorities, (OSHA, MSHA, Pa DEP, EPA) in the context of inspections and new regulatory requirements.

·       Collaborate with Global and Regional resources to utilize outside expertise and pilot new programs.

·       Develops forward thinking ideas by partnering with site leadership to develop new insightful solutions to daily issues and mitigate risk.

·       Drive a high performing team culture. Evaluate staffing needs to determine necessary hiring, training, developmental, and disciplinary needs.

 

In addition, you have:

  • Education/training in Health Safety and Environmental is required
  •  Minimum of 3 years in leading, coaching and mentoring a team
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety management role is a plus
  • Experience and thorough understanding of either OSHA or MSHA requirements
  • Process improvement driven
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Training in ISO 14001, 45001 and 50001 preferred
