Job Description Summary:nnThis position utilizes noninvasive computerized medical technology to take CT scan images, which are used to diagnose, evaluate, and treat a variety of medical issues.nnQualifications:nnGraduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program required.nnMontana State Radiologic Technologist License as required by law.nnRegistered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.nnCurrent BLS CPR certification required.nnRegistered in Computed Tomography (CT) by ARRT preferred or must be successfully obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire.nnExcellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.nnCommitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.nnExcellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.nnExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.nnPossess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.nnJob Specific Duties:nnAccurately performs appropriate CT examination as defined by department protocols. Ensures accurate techniques are utilized in accordance with ACR standards and ALARA.nnAccurately performs beginning and end of day duties as defined in department procedures. Responsible for stocking assigned area(s) and assists with supply outdates.nnExhibits proper radiation and/or magnet safety as appropriate to assigned area(s).nnAccurately reports all malfunctioning equipment and/or errors per department protocol. Documents safety related issues and outcomes.nnObtains patient history, reason for procedure, and other exam related information. Evaluates information to ensure appropriate scan to ensure proper diagnosis. Communicates any questions or concerns per department protocol.nnResponsible for patient preparation related to the exam. Exhibits proper venipuncture techniques, and I-stat competencies, etc.nnProvides the patient with follow-up, exam information and post exam procedures as applicable to assigned area(s).nnResponsible for reviewing orders, prior exams, labs, and patient history per department standards. Accurately completes appropriate documentation related to exam.nnThe above essential functions are representative of major duties of positions in this job classification.
