Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.nnThis is a contingent position based on contract awardnnWhat You’ll DonnAs a Fire Alarm and Suppression Systems Technician, you will:nnEvaluate and Select Engineering Techniques: Independently evaluate and select standard engineering techniques and procedures for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm and suppression systems.nnApply Engineering Criteria: Utilize judgment to make minor adaptations and modifications to engineering plans and designs as required.nnAssist in Complex Design Tasks: With gained experience, assist in the design of larger and more complex fire alarm and suppression system projects that include conventional plans and few complex features.nnPerform Investigations and Surveys: Conduct investigations and surveys to assess current systems and identify areas for improvement or potential issues.nnEnsure Compliance: Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and best practices to maintain safety and operational efficiency.nnMonitor System Performance: Regularly monitor the performance of fire alarm and suppression systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and efficiently.nnDocument Activities: Maintain accurate documentation of all inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs performed, including any adaptations or modifications made to the systems.nnContribute to Cost Efficiency: Execute job tasks in a manner that impacts cost containment, efficiency, and profitability, ensuring optimal operational performance.nnCollaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure that all aspects of the fire safety systems are integrated and functioning properly within the overall safety infrastructure of the facility.nnProvide Technical Support: Offer technical support and guidance on the operation and maintenance of fire alarm and suppression systems to facility management and other stakeholders.nnEngage in Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest technologies and standards in fire safety to continuously improve skills and knowledge in the field.nnOther duties as requirednnQualifications:nnHigh School Diploma or GED: Required as a basic educational foundation.nnTechnical or Vocational Training: Training from a technical school or community college in fire technology, electrical systems, or a related field is highly recommended.nnNICET III Certification: Certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) in fire alarm systems or fire suppression systems is highly valued.nnState Licensing: Some states require specific licensing for technicians working on fire alarm and suppression systems.nnContinuing Education: Ongoing education in the latest fire protection technology and codesnnRelevant Experience: Experience working with fire alarm and suppression systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, typically at least 5+ years.nnProject Assistance Experience: Experience assisting in the design and implementation of larger and more complex fire safety systems projects.nnAnalytical Thinking: Capable of understanding and interpreting complex system diagrams and technical documents.nnSafety Awareness: High level of safety awareness to ensure all work complies with the latest safety standards.nnAdaptability: Flexibility to adapt to new technologies and methods in the evolving field of fire protection.nnAvailability: Willingness to work on-call for emergencies or system failures outside of normal business hours.nnPreferred Qualifications:nnUndergraduate degree in Engineering and minimum of 2 years related experience, with typical experience ranging from 3-7 years.nnClearance: TS/SCI with willingness to taka polynn#ECnnINCLUSION AND DIVERSITY AT KBRnnA t KBR, we are passionate about our people, sustainability, and our Zero Harm culture.nnThese inform all that we do and are at the heart of our commitment to, and ongoing journey toward being a more inclusive and diverse company.
