About the Facility - Dallas VAMC Dallas VA Medical Center provides primary care and specialty health services, including cardiology, mental health services, treatment for spinal cord injuries, suicide prevention, women's health care, and more. The VA North Texas Health Care System is a progressive provider in heart of Texas. Poised as VA's second largest health care system, we serve over 113,000 Veterans and deliver ΒΌ million outpatient episodes of care each year to Veterans in 38 Texas counties and two counties in southern Oklahoma. We have 4,700 employees and 1,700 community volunteers who are driven by the passion to serve at Dallas VA Medical Center. VANTHCS provides comprehensive health services through primary, tertiary, and long-term care in many areas like medicine, surgery, mental health and rehabilitation. The 853-bed system has a Spinal Cord Injury Center, Domiciliary Care Program and Community Living Center with a dedicated hospice unit. In 2009, a Fisher House was established on the Dallas campus to provide no-cost temporary lodging in a home-like setting for families of Veterans or active-duty military personnel undergoing treatment at the facility. Facility Address: 4500 South Lancaster Rd, Dallas TX 75216 RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to) - Shall provide clinical Urology services including surgeries, consultations, cystoscopies, and other related urology procedures.
- Shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries as documented by the physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time.
- Specialty exams.
- Must provide direct patient care including specialty exams as needed.
- Medications: follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.
- Shall provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all urology clinical and surgical patients.
- Participation in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the VAMC Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee. List all meetings, associated with time and frequency.
REQUIREMENTS - Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU).
- BLS, ACLS certifications required.
