About the Facility - Fargo VAMC The Fargo VA Health Care System provides medical care and services through the Veterans Health Administration to veterans residing in North Dakota, western Minnesota, and northern South Dakota. The health care system is a general medical/surgical/psychiatric facility with 42 acute beds and an attached 38-bed Community Living Center (CLC) providing extended care. Veterans are referred to the Minneapolis VA Health Care System for tertiary care. The health care system also supports 10 community-based outpatient clinics (CBOC), located in Bismarck, Devils Lake, Dickinson, Grafton, Jamestown, Grand Forks, Minot, and Williston, N.D., as well as Fergus Falls and Bemidji, Minn. During the last two years, outpatient visits for the healthcare system and the CBOCs have steadily increased to well over 100,000 per year. The health care system has had over 2,000 admissions into the hospital each year over the last two years. The CLC provides extended care through admissions of over 400 patients each year during the past two years.

- Utilize diagnostic tools and imaging to diagnose urological disorders.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with urological conditions, including medical management and surgical interventions.
- Perform surgical procedures, including but not limited to prostatectomy, nephrectomy, and bladder reconstruction.
- Perform endoscopic procedures, such as cystoscopy and ureteroscopy, to diagnose and treat urinary tract conditions.
- The Urologist interprets procedure findings and provides timely reports to patients and referring physicians.
- Educate patients and their families about urological conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
- Offer guidance on preventive measures and health maintenance.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including oncologists, radiologists, and nephrologists, to optimize patient care.
- Consult on complex cases and provide expert opinions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) of patient care.
- The Urologist prepares and submits reports and documentation as required.
Urologist - REQUIREMENTS - Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Must be board certification by the American Board of Urology.
- Current state medical license and in good standing.
- Commitment to ongoing medical education and professional development.
