Demonstrates proficiency in performing MRI imaging exams for all ages and adhere to safety procedures.
n
MRI Tech operates the MRI equipment, prepares patients for procedures, and ensures that enough information has been obtained to make a diagnosis, assist in the management of patients and present images to the physician for diagnosis.
n
Intravenous therapy/contrast selection and injection.
n
Prepare and enter written documentation as require by the department, such as informed consent.
n
Float to off-sites as needed.
n
Rotating weekends and holidays required.

Qualifications
n
Required:
n
High School Diploma or equivalent.
n
Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
n
BLS required.
n
Intravenous Contrast Certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
n
Specialized training in MRI technology and cross-sectional anatomy.
n
Ability to sustain prolonged periods of sitting, walking, lifting, pulling and/or positioning and transferring patients.

Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements:

n- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
n- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
n- Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
n- Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
n- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
