We are seeking an experienced and motivated Property Manager to oversee a 65-unit property in Oakland County, MI.

As an Assistant Property Manager, you will be responsible for managing leasing, marketing, bookkeeping, customer service, resident retention, and various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in property management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage daily operations while fostering a positive community environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly records of income and expenses, including processing invoices.
- Handle collection, posting, and depositing of rent and security deposit payments.
- Manage delinquencies, late notices, and evictions, aiming for a 95% collection rate.
- Monitor and deposit laundry revenue, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Ensure correct billing for utility charges and lease compliance for occupied apartments.
- Process renewal letters and maintain a monthly renewal log.
- Organize and maintain resident files.
- Monitor and close service requests for accurate reporting and follow-up.
- Address resident complaints, payroll, lease signings, and incident reports in the Property Manager’s absence.
- Show apartments to prospective residents and handle applications and lease renewals.
- Enter guest cards, traffic info, and conduct marketing surveys.
- Assist with newsletters, resident activities, and community outreach.
- Support move-in processes and work with maintenance on apartment turnovers and property cleanliness.
- Help supervise, train, and develop staff.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting with office management responsibility. Residential property management experience preferred.
- Ability to develop a rapport with the residents and community staff.
