The Village of Sparta is accepting applications for a temporary part-time Office Assistant position. The starting pay is $19-21/hour.
The work schedule is flexible. We are looking for someone who can work 20-24 hours per week. The office is open Monday thru Thursday 7:30am to 5:30pm. We are willing to work with the right applicant to tailor the schedule to their needs. Ideally, the person hired will be available 2-4 days per week. The schedule will usually be consistent but they may be asked to work more hours to help cover vacations as needed.
No experience or college degree necessary. However, experience with customer service, BS&A Software, or accounting experience considered a plus.
Position will be trained on the job. The most important requirements are a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and ability to work well with our team.
The position works as part of our three-person finance team in Village Hall under the direct supervision of our Office Manager and Finance Director. Primary responsibilities include customer service (answering the phone, emails, and in-person inquires), data entry, filing, and accounts receivable.
