We’re Hiring: School Social Worker in Detroit, MI for SY 24-25!

As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ well-being by addressing social and emotional needs that impact their academic success.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a team member for programs as assigned.
• Participate in the development of curriculum with particular emphasis on social-emotional behaviors
• Ensure that an effective treatment plan has been developed for each student served
• Provide regular consultation to program staff and parents in matters pertaining to the social-emotional needs of students;
• Conduct assessments to identify student needs and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
• Participate as a member IEP Team (Individualized Educational Planning Team)
• Write appropriate present level of performance statements with current data.
• Provide appropriate documentation of programs of goals and objectives;
• Provide direct services to students and/or parents as described in the IEPT meeting report
• . Maintain student records, student objectives, and security/inventory of equipment and materials according to identified system

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid state certificate/license as a School Social Worker.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and understanding of trauma-informed practices.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for creating equitable and inclusive educational environments.
