Responsibilities
- Leads sustaining engineering projects to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). Initiates and implements programs to continuously improve manufacturing processes.
- Performs safety risk assessments and implements appropriate risk mitigations. Collaboratively develops tools, such as machine guarding, to effectively drive safety metrics.
- Designs, develops, and qualifies tooling and processes to meet safety, quality and production standards.
- Documents all processes and tooling in applicable systems (SAP, TLM).
- Acts as interface between engineering and manufacturing / production.
- Maintains and adheres to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Innovation
- BS in manufacturing or mechanical engineering, or related engineering degree, equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Basic knowledge of technical tools specific to the job function: e.g. CAD, CAE, industrial or quality engineering tools.
- Basic awareness of general engineering tools (LEAN or 6-sigma) such as DoE, FMEA, QFD, etc.
- Track record of project completions that deliver business results. Experience with safety risk assessments and machine guarding is a plus.
