Our client, a community-focused, multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm in Northern Virginia , is looking for a motivated Roadway Design Engineer to join their expanding transportation team. This role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of projects, including large-scale residential developments, vibrant mixed-use commercial spaces, educational campuses, and essential transportation designs. Key Responsibilities

• Design and prepare technical documents using Bentley’s MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer software.
• Assist project managers and senior team members throughout all project phases.
• Help develop and produce projects from initial concept through construction administration.
• Develop design efficiencies using AutoCAD and MicroStation OpenRoads software.
• Contribute to the design of roadway and trail systems, including geometry, vertical alignments, traffic management, and signage & pavement marking plans.
• Create erosion and sediment control plans that comply with state regulations.
• Stay current with local, state, and federal design standards to ensure regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 - 3 years of experience in roadway, highway, or transportation design engineering.
• A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Currently pursuing or in possession of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation is a plus.
• Passion for teamwork and collaboration throughout the design process.
