Job Description
Immediate opportunity for a licensed Special education teacher for a middle school for a self-contained classroom setting.
Disabilities are mild intellectual disabilities with a total of 8- 9 students. Classroom comes with two (2) experienced and trained paraprofessionals. This ESE teaching job is located in Rock Hill, South Carolina and is near York, Fort Mills, and only minutes away from downtown Charlotte, North Carolina.
Educational, Certifications, & Licensure Requirements
- Bachelors degree in special education
- Professional educators licensure to teach middle school students.
- Professional Educator's Licensure for Exceptional Children's Department (EC) of North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI)

Job Details
- 40-hours
- Normal school hours
- 10-month contract
- Middle school (7th & 8th)
- 9 students on caseload.
- Self-contained classroom
- 2 full-time paraprofessionals assigned to classroom.
- Responsible for preparing and implementing Individualized Evaluation Plans (IEP).
- Attend IEP meetings.
- Communicate regularly with school staff and families.
- Ideal Start date is: August 26th (08/26/2024) or September 2nd (09/02/2024)
- Contract runs thorough June 2025
- 10-month contract / 180 days
- Familiar with Enrich software.
- Experienced working with students with Autism.
- Create a fun, engaging, and educational lesson plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, SPeD team, and families regarding students' needs.
- Prepare progress notes.
- Encourage a friendly, safe, and learning classroom.
- Educate parents and school administrators regarding students' progress.
- Follow South Carolina federal and state guidelines.
