Job Description

Our client, a growing personal care product contract manufacturer, is looking for an Analytical Chemist to join their team!


The role involves testing OTC bulk products, finished goods, and stability samples to ensure they meet required standards and regulations. It includes calibrating and troubleshooting analytical instruments, ensuring compliance with SOPs, industry regulations, and customer requirements. Accurate documentation of test results and any deviations is essential for reporting and auditing purposes.


Pay rate: $70-$80k annually

Location: San Bernadino County, CA

Start Date: 1/20/2025

Job type: Temp-hire


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytical testing on raw materials, bulk, finished goods, stability, and R&D samples as per SOPs
  • Conduct testing using techniques including HPLC, GC, TOC, ISE, EDX, and titrations
  • Maintain detailed lab notebooks with raw data for all tests conducted
  • Keep daily logs, including balance calibration, waste logs, refrigerator logs, etc.
  • Ensure proper inventory of reagents, gas cylinders, standards, solutions, and other laboratory materials
  • Assist in communication with internal and external teams regarding test results and status updates
  • Prepare volumetric and other stock solutions as needed
  • Draft and execute analytical method validations
  • Follow and enforce all safety protocols and procedures
  • Establish and maintain SOPs for testing and analysis
  • Support the QC Manager and Lab Chemists in Out-of-Spec (OOS) investigations
  • Assist the compliance team with the execution of validations


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, with at least 2-3 years in an analytical role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and analytical instrument software
  • Strong statistical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of GMP, GDP, and regulatory compliance standards
