Our Canadian owned, multinational client operates multiple business divisions including Construction & Equipment, Civil Engineering, Aggregates and more. They have an excellent opportunity for a Director of Engineering who will manage and lead a team of engineers and technical staff to ensure the successful completion of engineering projects within the Construction and Equipment Division. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, maintaining quality standards, and achieving strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing a team of engineers and technical staff
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence within the engineering team.
- Ensure that all engineering projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the division’s long-term goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with senior management to set priorities and allocate resources effectively.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of new home building projects.
- Ensure that all projects adhere to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality control measures.
- Maintain strict quality-control measures throughout the construction process.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team and other departments.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with production, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of projects.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, addressing technical inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- The role is primarily office-based with regular site visits to oversee project progress and quality.
- Occasional travel is required to visit project sites and meet with clients or vendors.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- 10 years of experience in engineering management, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of leading successful engineering projects and teams.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is required
- Strong understanding of quality control processes and regulatory requirements in construction.
