Job Description

Akkodis is partnered with a leading financial regulatory authority here in Ontario. They are looking to recruit a Senior Procurement Advisor to join their team here in Toronto.


As a Senior Procurement Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the team in managing the acquisition of goods and services, particularly focusing on IT procurement for hardware, software, and potentially professional services.


Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Provide whole-cycle procurement advisory services to ensure consistency and quality assurance in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and related legal/contractual standards, policies, and processes.
  • Plan and lead procurements by conducting needs analysis, developing specifications, managing evaluation processes, and securing appropriate procurement approvals.
  • Offer guidance on enterprise-wide vendor of record (VOR) arrangements and client lead procurements.
  • Prepare, develop, and/or review procurement business cases and requests for proposals.
  • Analyze business and financial risks to ensure the company's accountability for fair, open, competitive, and transparent procurement processes.
  • Manage purchase order placement and reporting, defining timeframes, milestones, acceptance test planning (if required), and measurement methods for supplier performance monitoring.


The ideal candidate will have a combination of the below skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Ideally looking for someone with at least 8+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in both public and private sectors in Canada.
  • Strong understanding of IT procurement processes, including hardware, software, &/or professional services.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and procurement strategy development.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess business and financial risks effectively.
  • Familiarity with procurement regulations, policies, and best practices.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in procurement software/tools is an asset.
