Position: Senior Advisor, Network Security Architecture
We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor, Network Security Architecture to lead the strategic development and implementation of our network security architecture. This role will focus on defining and driving the architectural framework for securing our networks, integrating Zero Trust principles, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our network security strategy, ensuring our infrastructure is resilient, secure, and adaptable to emerging threats. This role requires a deep understanding of network security design, architecture, and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams to align security objectives with overall IT strategies.
Location: Hybrid, based in Toronto.
Reporting to: Vice President, Information Security.
Your Career - What You'll Do
- Architect Network Security Strategies: Lead the design and development of scalable and resilient network security architectures that align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Drive Network Security Initiatives: Develop and enforce security patterns, principles, and best practices to safeguard network infrastructures, emphasizing proactive risk management and threat prevention.
- Zero Trust Framework Implementation: Lead the adoption and architectural integration of Zero Trust principles, ensuring the network infrastructure follows key Zero Trust concepts such as least privilege access, continuous monitoring, and real-time threat detection.
- Network Segmentation Design: Architect and optimize network segmentation strategies to support regulatory compliance, including PCI-DSS, while ensuring security is maintained at every layer.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with business units, IT infrastructure, compliance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the alignment of network security architecture with broader IT strategies and compliance goals.
- Security Policy Leadership: Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for the secure design and operation of network infrastructure.
- Oversee Security Technologies: Lead the selection, implementation, and oversight of advanced network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and encryption protocols, ensuring they align with the overall network security architecture.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine security architectures and strategies to address evolving threats, compliance requirements, and technological advancements.
Your Career - What You Bring
- 12+ years of experience in information security, with a strong focus on network security architecture.
- 7+ years of experience designing and implementing network security architectures, with a deep understanding of network infrastructure and security frameworks.
- Expertise in Network Security Architecture, Zero Trust frameworks, Information Security, Cloud Security , and Regulatory Compliance management.
- In-depth experience with frameworks such as NIST, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001 , and Network Detection and Response .
- Proficiency in network security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM, and encryption protocols.
- Proven experience in leading the implementation of Zero Trust security models and designing resilient network infrastructures.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
