Industrial engineering consulting firm located in Akron, OH looking for a Piping & Equipment Layout Lead Designer to join their successful and growing team.
Summary: The Piping & Equipment Layout Lead Designer is responsible for gathering and analyzing technical data used to prepare piping and equipment layout designs and drawings for the Process Chemical and Polymer industries. This individual is expected to fulfill the requirements of the position and understands that the design process includes visiting clients’ facilities where they may be expected to perform some physical work.

Key Responsibilities:
- Creation of piping & equipment layouts and stack up drawings within the Process Chemical and Polymer industries
- Responsible for producing equipment layouts, piping orthographic and isometric drawings
- Lead piping design work on a project level with overall design responsibility
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and clients
- Develop piping cost estimates for different project stages
- Perform field work as necessary to obtain design information
- Utilize AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks software to perform job duties
- Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly
- Accepts other duties as assigned
Qualifications - Education/Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
- Experience working in the Process Chemical and Polymer industries
- Willingness to perform field work as needed
- Proficient in creating equipment layouts, piping orthographic & isometric drawings
- Proficient in AutoCAD Plant 3D (or extensive AutoCAD 2D experience)
- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Navisworks software experience strongly preferred, but not required
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
- Authorizes a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background
- Submits to a drug test post offer
- Possesses a valid driver’s license
- Accepts that this position may require some domestic overnight travel
Schedule: Monday-Friday, flexible schedule

Location: Hybrid work option (Tues/Wed/Th on-site in Akron, OH with Mon & Fri remote option)

Pay: $80K-95K (Salary, but will earn for any hours worked over 40/week)
