Established cocktail bar in Midtown is seeking an ambitious and self organizing head chef, eager to grow into an executive position.
We are looking for a Chef who is ready to take the next step in their career. We are looking for someone to be proactive in operating the kitchen operations from top to bottom. Specifically, we are looking for someone who can take hold of the identity of the food program, coming to the operators with ideas, presenting mostly finished ideas and dishes. Not only must they be able to conceptualize a food menu and develop recipes but they must be able to solve quality control problems with minimal intervention from operators.
The ideal candidate should have the following experience and skills:
- Formally training from an accolade institute or 3+ years working in fine dining/accolade restaurants.
- Advanced and accurate knife skills
- Ability to read and follow recipes and standards
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills (Spanish +)
- Capability to teach and mentor others
- Experience with a variety of cooking styles and techniques
- Ability to adapt and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Experience organizing kitchen operations
