Rhythm is in search of a Director of Sales with surf and/or contemporary apparel experience and relationships to join our team in Irvine, CA.
Rhythm is an alternative Australian surf lifestyle brand specializing in the design, sale and marketing of authentic, on trend surf lifestyle products. Rhythm creates inspirational Men’s and Women’s apparel, as well as swimwear and accessory products.

Position Summary
We are seeking a Director of Sales who will manage all sales-related aspects of Rhythm USA’s apparel business and will report directly to Rhythm’s Global General Manager. We offer a competitive base salary plus performance-based bonuses.
The Director of Sales will oversee Rhythm’s key sales programs and lead our national sales team, including external sales representatives and in-house sales executives. Responsibilities include direct interaction with major national accounts as well as key independent retailers, conducting sales presentations and helping execute global sales initiatives into the US market. The Director of Sales will be accountable to help set and deliver annual sales targets across all programs as well as ensure all reporting cadences are followed.
The ideal candidate should have extensive sales experience, great problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn new workflows and processes while also being able to contribute operationally to a dynamic and growing team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales plans in alignment with global brand visions.
- Successfully drives new and existing business to increase target market sales by managing all aspects of the sales team and retailer relationships.
- Manage internal sales executives and program leaders.
- Manage the national sales team of reps.
- Manage major accounts and independent retail accounts.
- Leverage industry relationships to create partnerships that contribute to long term revenue growth.
- Travel to ensure sales, brand and product strategies are executed.
- Work with production team to determine and manage sampling and production needs.
- Develop and schedule sales promotions and monitor results.
- Work with the marketing team to plan key events.
- Attend account events and trade shows.
- Identify training needs and hold sales, brand and product workshops for retailers.
- Provide feedback on competitors, general market trends and product opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of successful experience in apparel sales with at least 3 years in a sales management position required
- Detail oriented with strong planning, organizational, presentation and merchandising abilities
- Strong leadership, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates independent initiative and willingness to take ownership for results
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service orientated with the ability to build strong business relationships
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Regular travel required
