Our client is a large consulting firm. They are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join their team. This role is a CONTRACT position. Position will be ONSITE . Candidates must be residing within commutable distance of Denver, CO to be considered.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer with expertise in JavaScript and Cypress. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated tests across various testing domains.

Position Duties:

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web applications using Cypress and JavaScript.
• Design and execute end-to-end and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Manage test cases, track issues, and improve test coverage through SQL-based data validation.
• Utilize Git for version control and oversee CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for consistent and reliable test deployments.
• Implement API automation tests using tools like PactumJS or Mocha36.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and design effective test strategies.
• Identify, document, and report software defects, tracking their resolution.
• Maintain automation-related test documentation, test plans, and test cases.
• Conduct manual testing as needed to complement automated testing efforts.

Position Requirements:

• Proven experience in test automation using Cypress and JavaScript (3-4 years preferred). Strong knowledge of TypeScript for developing robust test scripts.
• Proficiency in Git for version control and code collaboration.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline management and test environment setup.
• Strong SQL database skills for data validation and database testing.
• Familiarity with API testing tools and techniques.
• Experience with performance and load testing.
• Knowledge of Agile development processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Security Testing - Experience with automated security testing tools, ability to design and implement security test scenarios using Cypress, familiarity with API security testing
• Performance Testing - Understanding of performance metrics and benchmarks, experience with performance testing tools compatible with JavaScript, ability to create and execute load tests using Cypress, analyzing and reporting performance test results
• Functional Testing - Proficiency in writing end-to-end functional tests using Cypress, experience in creating and maintaining test automation frameworks, ability to design test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria
• Accessibility Testing - Understanding of WCAG guidelines and accessibility standards, experience with automated accessibility testing tools, ability to integrate accessibility checks into Cypress test suites

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or of similar
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
• Familiarity with additional testing tools or frameworks.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
