- Sommelier will work in conjunction with Floor Managers, and provide assistance to maintaining the beverage program
- Oversees the serving and storage of wine; ensure wines are served in the correct glassware and at the proper temperature; maintain stock of all beverages according to service needs and ensure the team is prepared for a successful service
- Train and educate FOH on the wine list for new hires and provide continued education for existing staff members
- Assist Beverage Director in managing the day-to-day needs of the beverage program (POS management, communicating ordering needs, inventory, menu updates, timely staff updates, storage, etc.).
- Provide guidance recommendations to guests on wine selection, food pairings, and wine service, enhancing their dining experience and satisfaction.
- Stay current with industry trends, wine regions, grape varieties, and production methods, continually expanding and updating wine knowledge.
- Assist other stations or areas of the restaurant when requested by management.
- Knowledge in natural and sustainable wines a plus!
Requirements:
Qualified Sommeliers must be energetic, enthusiastic, and have a great attitude, as well as:
- At least 3 years of experience (preferably in a Sommelier role).
- Possess exceptional floor presence.
- Must be able to demonstrate an extensive depth of knowledge on wine.
- Skilled in impeccable wine service and sharing wine knowledge with guests and service staff
- Previous experience working as a floor sommelier is encouraged but not required assuming you can provide adequate working knowledge of our wine list.
- Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, or similar certification programs are encouraged but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or a case of wine as needed.
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant
