Job Title: P6 Scheduler – Transmission and Distribution Projects

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced P6 Scheduler with expertise in process management, risk analysis, and document control to support large Transmission and Distribution projects across Ontario, Canada. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in project scheduling, risk management, and document control practices, with proficiency in Primavera P6 and Procore (a plus). This role is crucial in ensuring projects are executed efficiently, within scope, on time, and within budget. Additional experience with processes, risk, and document control (Procore a plus).

Key Responsibilities:

Project Scheduling with Primavera P6:

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 for large Transmission and Distribution projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and define milestones, critical paths, and dependencies.
• Ensure the schedule reflects all project phases, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Monitor project progress and prepare regular schedule updates, identifying potential delays and proposing corrective actions.

Process Management and Optimization:

• Develop and implement standardized scheduling and project management processes to enhance project execution and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with project controls standards, best practices, and internal processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending process improvements.

Risk Analysis and Mitigation:

• Work closely with project teams to identify potential project risks, including schedule delays, resource constraints, and external factors impacting project timelines.
• Use risk management tools and techniques to assess, document, and mitigate project risks.
• Update the schedule regularly to reflect changes in risk factors and their impact on project timelines.

Document Control Management:

• Oversee and manage project documentation throughout the lifecycle of the project, ensuring all documents are filed, tracked, and easily accessible.
• Utilize Procore or similar document control systems to track project documentation such as RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, change orders, and project correspondence.
• Ensure proper version control of documents and facilitate efficient document exchange between project stakeholders.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Serve as the key point of contact for scheduling-related inquiries, working closely with internal project teams and external stakeholders.
• Communicate regularly with project managers and other team members to ensure alignment on schedule objectives, progress, and any changes to the plan.
• Participate in regular project meetings to provide updates on the schedule, address concerns, and assist with any planning adjustments.

Reporting and Performance Analysis:

• Prepare detailed schedule reports, variance analysis, and performance dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
• Highlight critical path items, schedule slippages, and potential issues in a timely manner to ensure project success.
• Assist with the preparation of presentations for senior management and clients, summarizing scheduling status, risks, and corrective actions.

Project Documentation and Compliance:

• Ensure all project documentation is accurate, current, and compliant with Hydro One’s regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive records of scheduling changes, risks, issues, and resolutions throughout the project.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.

Experience:

• 4+ years of experience in scheduling, with a strong background in Primavera P6, specifically in utility or energy-related projects (Transmission and Distribution experience is preferred).
• Demonstrated expertise in risk management, process management, and document control practices.
• Experience with Procore or similar document management software is a significant advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 for project scheduling and critical path analysis.
• Strong understanding of risk management processes and their integration with project scheduling.
• Experience managing project documentation, including version control, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to foresee potential risks and impacts on the project timeline.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is an asset.
• Knowledge of Canadian energy regulations and compliance standards, especially in the transmission and distribution sector.

Working Conditions:

• The position may require occasional travel to project sites across Ontario or other parts of Canada.
• Flexibility in working hours to accommodate project deadlines and coordination with teams in different time zones.
