Job Title : Defense Employment Attorney (PAGA Experience)

About the firm:

The Law Firm is seeking a talented and motivated Defense Employment Attorney with PAGA experience to join there growing team in Charlotte, North Carolina . The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of experience in defending employment law matters, with specific expertise in PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) litigation. This role offers a hybrid work model , providing a balance between in-office and remote work options to accommodate a flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities :

• Defend clients in employment law matters, with a particular focus on PAGA litigation and wage-and-hour issues.
• Manage and strategize a caseload involving various employment law disputes, including class actions, wrongful termination, and employee classification issues.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and settlement agreements, with a primary emphasis on PAGA claims.
• Conduct legal research and provide counsel on complex employment law topics, particularly those related to PAGA framework and wage and hour regulations.
• Represent clients in depositions, mediations, hearings, and court proceedings, with a focus on PAGA cases.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to devise case strategies and deliver high-quality client service.
• Maintain and foster strong client relationships by providing clear communication and legal guidance.
• Stay informed of legal developments, particularly changes in North Carolina employment law and PAGA-related regulations.
• Mentor and assist junior attorneys and paralegals with legal research, case preparation, and professional development.

Qualifications :

• Experience : A minimum of 3+ years of experience in employment law defense, with specific expertise in PAGA litigation and wage and hour law.
• Skills : Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities, with a strong understanding of North Carolina’s labor laws , particularly as they pertain to PAGA .
• Litigation : Experience with all stages of litigation, including discovery, pre-trial motions, depositions, and trial preparation.
