Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Estimating Assistant to manage and streamline the bid process for our construction projects. The ideal estimating assistant will have a strong background in construction estimation, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize Building Connected to manage and coordinate bid documents efficiently.
- Receive, organize, and prepare subcontractor bid documents for review. Develop and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors to facilitate the timely receipt of bid proposals.
- Actively solicit subcontractors to ensure comprehensive bid coverage and prepare proposals for client submission.
- Ensure all bid documents are organized and comply with the internal bid process.
- Produce and maintain proposal directories and reports for all proposals.
- Update and maintain information in the Building Connected database.
- Keep subcontractor contact information current and accurate.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience with estimating software, particularly Building Connected, is preferred.
- A background in construction with relevant estimating experience.
- Familiarity with construction blueprints and bid processes.
