The Specification Engineer will play a vital role in advancing our client's position in the building wire sector with the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge solutions, engage with diverse stakeholders, and actively participate in the growth of our building wire product line. Regular travel to our manufacturing sites, customer/job sites, and tradeshow support will be top priority, with up to 50% travel.
WHAT we need you to do.
- Work closely with the sales team to achieve market growth and ensure effective delivery and support of our client's building wire products.
- Build current product awareness and understanding and support new product development.
- Represent the company at trade shows, engineering conferences, and marketing events.
- Identify training needs and provide guidance to promote product knowledge and effective promotion.
- Work with engineering team on product specifications, applications, and contribute towards product refinement.
- Serve as an expert advisor on different theoretical topics and case studies at conferences and technical meetings.
- Research, measure, and monitor competitor market share to enhance the reception of the company’s product in the market.
- Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT you need to possess.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Architecture, or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- PE preferred, but not mandatory
- 5+ years of experience engineering/designing electrical systems within the construction industry
- Product Knowledge in wire manufacturing is mandatory
- Understanding of IEEE Standards
- Experience analyzing drawings and specifications
- Self-motivated with strong prioritization and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities, with a preference for design experience.
- Capable of leveraging industry expertise and contacts to capture sales and grow the company’s market share.
- Demonstrated experience interacting with key decision-makers.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to various stakeholders, including customers, prospective clients, trade organizations, contractors/builders, inspectors, team members, team leaders, and top management.
- Organizational networking capabilities with the ability to share best practices across cross-functional teams, multiple cultures, and regions.
