What You Will Do:


As the Maintenance Manager, you will manage the operational and fiscal activities of the Kansas City Maintenance Department. You will develop annual department budgets, plan & implement systems and procedures to improve department effectiveness – including cost and service to customers. You will hire, train, and mentor staff and supervise in accordance with company policies and procedures.

What You Will Accomplish:


  • Manage the operational and fiscal activities within the Maintenance Department, including staffing levels, budget, and departmental goals.
  • Plan and develop systems & procedures improving the quality and efficiency of the department.
  • Evaluate, review, and develop Maintenance processes and obstacles – developing solutions when needed to enhance efficiencies.
  • Coordinate and manage projects and repairs within the building – deploying shared services such as maintenance management system capabilities and Engineering.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing team members to continually grow competencies within the department while creating a challenging work environment that retains top talent.
  • Ensure PM and TPM programs align with OSHA standards and implement corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Plant Manager to plan and deliver maintenance services.


Position Requirements:


  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Management, Engineering, or similar field; Will consider combination of coursework and relevant work experience
  • Experience: 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment; Industrial certifications (mechanical, electrical, etc.) highly preferred
  • Functional Skills: Excellent strategic, organizational planning, and execution skills; Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects; strong analytical skills with financial planning, budgeting, and cost containment experience; Knowledge of Continuous Improvement principles; Detailed and organized; proven ability to balance multiple competing priorities; Excellent technical/mechanical aptitude
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Proficient with MS Office; Previous experience with Maintenance Management Systems required
  • Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; will interact with individuals at all levels across the Company
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Ability to manage, engage, and grow a team; Comfortable with influencing others tactfully; Flexible and adaptable; Demonstrates a high ability to meet goals with solid problem-solving skills; balances a strong sense of urgency with hands-on mentoring and employee engagement.Willing to solicit feedback from all contributors; Experience with “Change Management” with the ability to take a vision and turn it into a concept; Highly motivated and driven to succeed

Other Important Information:


Salary :Salary is commensurate with proven expertise


Reports To: Plant Manager


Core Hours: 7:00am – 6:00pm (schedule can be somewhat flexible; will work between 8-9 hours within this timeframe)


Typical Work Week: M-F; Occasional weekend hours; 45 hours a week on average


Direct Reports: 3-5


Work Conditions: Office and manufacturing environment


Travel: 10% or less
