Job Description

An industry-leading company has an immediate need for a Human Resources Business Partner to provide expert guidance on HR-related matters, including employee relations, benefits, compensation, and talent acquisition. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with extensive HR experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and in-depth knowledge of employment laws and Human Capital Management systems. Working collaboratively, the new team member will enhance organizational effectiveness by resolving complex HR challenges and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while fostering a supportive and adaptable work environment.


Salary + Additional Benefits:

$110,000-$130,000

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor HR inbox and respond to employee inquiries, and employment verifications daily.
  • Administer performance matters and action plans. Guide managers in the company on disciplinary process and performance continuum. Provide resources, including suggested training recommendations for performance improvement to support employee success.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for conducting investigations into employee conduct and performance. Gather evidence and information related to employee concerns. Analyze data to identify patterns, discrepancies or other indicators of misconduct or performance issues. Carry out disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Interpret and provide guidance to managers and employees on human resource policies and procedures to achieve consistency, compliance, and efficiency and promote communication of HR and business initiatives including organizational changes.
  • Track and monitor federal and state employment law updates. Work with corporate law firm, internal legal department and CEO in finalization of Employee Handbook and state addendums.
  • Interface with internal and external legal counsel on employment matters, including investigations, best practices, immigration, and corporate policies.
  • Provide instructional leadership, developing curriculum and delivery of training to employees and leaders on HR Initiatives, including employment law, leadership, and performance management.
  • Support talent management initiatives, including onboarding and integration of new employees, assessing and providing input about talent moves and candidacy.
  • Cross-trained to administer leave requests and accommodations that arise under FMLA/OFLA, state and local leave laws, and short-term or long-term disability plans. Provide back-up support for workers compensation, protected family leave and ADA accommodations.
  • Provide mentoring to junior staff on HR team, in sharing proprietary and legal knowledge.
  • Regularly review employment law legislative updates and apprise HR leadership of necessary updates.
  • Provide HR statistical data for internal audit requests, as well as standard reports.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a B.S. degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or other related discipline is required
  • An advance degree is preferred
  • Alternatively, candidate with an additional four years of full-time working experience in a similar role in Human Resources (12 years total) may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Certification as a Human Resources professional preferred
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience as a corporate HR generalist in the areas of employee relations, talent management, benefits admin, compensation and training are required
  • Must have good communication, computer, presentation, and interpersonal skills as well as exceptional organizational skills and an ability to manage high volume with competing demands
  • Must be flexible to accept all levels and types of work assignments
  • Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented corporate environment
  • In-depth knowledge of Human Capital Management systems and state and federal human resources law
  • Knowledge in leave management and compensation regulations also required
  • Experience in the resolution of complex human resources issues and responding to employee questions regarding discrimination and other employee concerns
  • Experience administering random drug testing Public company experience is preferred
  • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810

  • Capable of developing strong interpersonal networks and trust within the organization. Lead consensus by involving all stakeholders, facilitating their understanding of differences, agreeing on requirements and constraints, and developing the best solution.
  • Adhere to the Company Safety culture and is expected to model safe behavior and influence peers to meet high standards.
  • Commit to the understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards, and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
