This is an extraordinary opportunity to lead the culinary team at one of Seattle’s most distinguished properties, crafting innovative menus and delivering world-class dining experiences that reflect the city’s vibrant culture and culinary scene. Position Summary The Executive Chef will oversee all culinary operations at the hotel, including its signature restaurant, banquets, in-room dining, and lounge. This role requires a visionary leader with a passion for culinary excellence, strong operational acumen, and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences through innovative and sustainable cuisine. Key Responsibilities Culinary Leadership Develop and execute seasonal, locally-inspired menus that align with the hotel’s luxury brand and reflect Seattle’s culinary identity. Ensure exceptional quality, consistency, and presentation in all food offerings across the hotel’s outlets. Drive the culinary vision for banquets and events, collaborating with the sales team to deliver bespoke experiences. Team Management Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing culinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills and maintain luxury service standards. Provide leadership and support to kitchen managers and staff, ensuring a productive and harmonious work environment. Operational Excellence Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Implement efficient workflows and processes to optimize productivity and reduce waste. Manage vendor relationships to source the highest quality ingredients, with a focus on sustainability and cost efficiency. Financial Management Develop and manage the culinary department’s budget, including food and labor costs, to ensure profitability. Monitor P&L statements and implement corrective actions to meet financial goals. Identify opportunities for revenue growth, such as creating unique dining experiences or signature events. Guest Experience Ensure all culinary offerings meet or exceed guest expectations, enhancing the hotel’s reputation as a premier dining destination. Actively engage with guests during special events and dining experiences to gather feedback and create lasting impressions. Qualifications Education: Culinary degree or equivalent training in a professional kitchen. Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in progressive culinary leadership roles, with at least 3 years as an Executive Chef in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment. Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Expertise in menu development, food costing, and inventory management. Knowledge of culinary trends, sustainability practices, and local sourcing. Certifications: Food safety and sanitation certifications are required; additional culinary certifications are preferred.
